Obituary for Louis H. Breeland

Greenwood, MS: Louis H. Breeland, 84, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Greenwood Funeral Home with interment in Tylertown at a later date. Rev. Bernard Wiggins will officiate. Visitation is from 9-11 A.M. Friday prior to the service.

Louis was a native of Tylertown and served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He moved to Grenada, MS in the early 1950’s then traveled to numerous cities for the next several years prior to settling in Greenwood in 1986. He retired from Kerr Glass as a foreman in 1988 after nearly 30 years. Louis was a Baptist, loved collecting coins and tropical fish.

He is survived by two daughters, Teresa McCullough (Tom Gary) of Greenwood, MS and Beth Martin (Randy) of Holcomb, MS; two sons, Joey Breeland (Penny Smith) of Greenwood, MS and Michael Breeland (Tressy) of Philipp, Ms; a sister, Ann Nail of Brandon, MS; nine grandchildren Eric McGarrity of Denver, CO, Patrick McCullough of Greenwood, MS, Megan Shaw, Randa Martin, Kellie Bailey, Ciara Breeland all of Holcomb, MS, Dakota Denley and Lexi Denley of Grenada, MS, and Makaelah Bradley of Coila, MS; and 5 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s research Hospital or the Make a wish foundation.

American Legion Post 29 will provide military honors.

Dear Ann and family, I have a jillion funny memories of Louis Henry from when we were children. Whenever I think of him, it is with a smile. Louis Henry was one of our close friends and we will miss him. He was a caring and loving friend and special to us. Always checking to becsure we were doing well, and loved coming to our class reunions. He will be sorely missed by all our group and especially by us.
