Obituary for Leslie Dale "Bud" Miller

Leslie Dale “Bud” Miller, 91 passed away at his home January 22, 2018 surrounded by his family. Graveside services to celebrate Mr. Miller’s life are 11 A.M. Wednesday 24, 2018 at the Miller Memorial Garden at Pine Bluff on County road 524 Cruger, MS. Bro. Phillip Cook and Rev. Bryan Collier will officiate.

Mr. Miller was born in Yazoo City, MS April 17, 1926 to Watt and Donnie Miller. He served in the US Army 124th Calvary Division during World War II. He was stationed in China, Central Burma and India Burma and received three battle and campaign stars, APTO Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He married the love of his life, Annie Holly and enjoyed 72 years of marriage. As a lifelong resident of Sidon, he enjoyed fishing and gardening. He grew the best tomatoes in the county. He retired from Leflore County as building inspector so he could pursue his passions full time.

He is preceded in death by his parents and five brothers; Donald, William Ed, Haven, Eldridge and Jack and one grandson, Michael Glenn Miller.

He is survived by his loving wife, Annie Miller, two sons; Glenn Miller (Florence) of Sidon, Leslie Miller (Deb) of Thaxton, one daughter: Debbie Waterer (Chip) of Tupelo, 8 grandchildren; Thad Miller (Lindsay) of Black Hawk, Todd Miller (Rebecca) of Tupelo, Rusty Waterer (Candace) of Tupelo, Reagan Bryant (Noah) of Hattiesburg, Christen Smith (Kevin) of Ozark, MO, Hunter Miller (Summeranne) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Dean Miller of Vance, NC and Matt Miller of Hattiesburg, MS and his great grandchildren; Wesley “Bud”, Sarah Beth, Bryce, Anny Kate, and Mary Todd Miller, Mont, Knox, Laurie and Noel Waterer, Ava and Allie Bryant, Breanna, Brayden and Bradley Smith.
A special athanks to his niece Jeanette Armstrong and his nephew Jerry Carroll for always being there to reflect the love of Christ to him.

A special thank you for two of God’s Angels, Tamekia Thomason and Bobby Jasper that have loved and cared for him during this season. And also Thank you to all the nurses and staff from the Grenada Hospice.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons.
Memorials may be made to Grenada Hospice.

So sorry for your loss of a such a fine gentleman. I always loved visiting with he and Granny every time I saw them. They reminded me so much of my grandparents. He was always so pleasant to sit and talk with. I know he will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him.
